For girls, most people don't ask you what your favourite superhero is, because it isn't the 'norm', but when you don't class yourself as 'normal', then superheroes are pretty much inevitable. I absolutely love Batman, name something that they've made in Batman style, I've most definitely got it. My love started when I first watched Batman: The Dark Knight, before then I watched Batman but I was never fully gripped. I believe this is partly from Heath Ledger's great performance and improv for his character; because in some weird way I understood what his character was going through and why The Joker was like that. The make-up and hard work that went into the movie really shows within the story and plot, but the actors pull it off smoothly and with such grace that I don't think that the toughest movie critic could say it was a 'low-budget' and 'quickly forgotten after the credits'. Even if the movie doesn't stick in your head after a few moments or years, everyone is still going to remember the moral of the story and Heath Ledger's tragic death. This is how people remember movie's, from tragic events, or even relating it to your own life afterwards. That is how you make a cinematic masterpiece that people remember and can learn from. I don't know how many years it has been since that movie came out but it still sticks in my mind and I still remember smiling stupidly the whole way through it. I guess the thing I'm most geeky about is a good film that sticks with you even when you're old and greying, and you can remember it and remember the memories that came before or after it. A lot of films have molded me into who I am today, the writer that I want to be when I grow up, just to see something come to life from its black and white pages into a film that makes people laugh, cry; a film that impacts someone like Batman impacted me. In my mere 16 years, life and movies have taught me a lot more than what school could ever have prepared me for. To me, life is about living to learn, not learning to live. Find something that makes you happy and keep learning from it until you learn everything you can get out of it, and that might take minutes or years, your life is down to you. Like the Joker said "If you're good at something, never do it for free."
